BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
When you become a member of the Mountain Communities Chamber of Commerce, you join a dynamic group of individuals that represent the business and ongoing interests of our communities.
Participation is key to making contacts in the business community and we encourage you to get involved in one of the many committees. Our committee structure is the heartbeat of our Chamber. Our committees help, plan, provide information and develop guidelines to insure that you have invested wisely in our organization.
The Chamber is dedicated to offering visibility and value to our membership. Here is how the Mountain Communities Chamber of Commerce supports and works to promote you and your business:
Member Link to the Web - Once invested in the Chamber, your membership provides you a free listing for your business, with complete contact information, business description and a link to your website.
“Just Ask Us” Program - Only our members are referred in response to inquiries from tourists, individuals looking to relocate, students, local residents, and the business community. Your next customer may come from the Chamber office.
Voting Privileges - From time to time, certain issues may require your vote such as as revisions to the Bylaws that will be voted on by the membership. As a member, your vote is a powerful tool and should be used to make your voice heard in chamber matters.
Membership Plaque - Let the citizens of the Mountain Communities know you have a voice in their community. Proudly display your membership plaque; many members look for it while doing business with one another.
Liaison to Kern County - The Chamber has a board member available to assist you with any special needs in working with the different departments of most county staff.
Online Promotions
The Chamber's website offers members several opportunities to promote their businesses. Our new, easy-to-use online directory gives members visibility to other businesses, as well as the general public. Listings are provided at no charge and members may list their businesses in multiple categories. Listings may also include a map to your location and links to your website and social network pages. Also available exclusively to members is the Chamber Calendar. Members are welcome and encouraged to list their upcoming events and programs, all at no charge.
For those who are looking to take full advantage of the Chamber's promotional opportunities, banner advertising is available. This is a great avenue for businesses that are interested in driving traffic to their website, or simply gaining exposure and name recognition.
Networking Opportunities
The Chamber hosts several networking programs that are open to members only. Among them are the Business After Hours mixers, Business Workshops, and Get Acquainted meetings.
Grand Openings/Ribbon Cuttings
The Chamber is pleased to offer ribbon cutting ceremonies to its members to increase their visibility to the public. Whether it's to celebrate the opening of a new business, a re-grand opening of an existing business, or an anniversary celebration, the Chamber is available to help you promote your event. Ribbon Cuttings are $50 and include certificates from City and State officials, and recognition in the Mountain Business News (photo included).
Member-to-Member Advertising Program
The Chamber has a monthly e-newsletter that goes to all the members. This is an effective and inexpensive way to promote your event or business to other Chamber members. Simply provide us with a .jpg file of your advertisement by the 15th of the month, along with a payment of $25, and we will ensure that your business gets noticed!
Guest Writing Opportunities
Would you like to write about a topic of interest to our local business community? This is a great way to increase your 'top of mind awareness' among chamber members without directly marketing to them. Position yourself as an expert by writing an article (or several!) for our monthly Community Times e-newsletter. We reserve the right not to publish articles that may be inflammatory or deceptive in nature. Please keep it professional. Free to participate.

Members may participate in any of our many active, dynamic committees, covering a wide range of interests. For more information, please see our Committees page.
